Director’s Statement
Click is truly a project that came from my heart and as I write this I do my best to remain in that same space. The original Click had been a very different script but one day another version hit me. I must say I resisted the new Click for some time because honestly it was scarier and touched upon issues that are very personal to me. I had never intended to write a story about New York, a simple comedic film would have been just fine but then I remembered, being uncomfortable and “going there” were two of the reasons I became an artist. I set out writing the new Click in a new environment (Los Angeles) and relied on my memory of what I loved most about New York.
I wanted to explore love, loss, finding oneself, family and celebration in a truthful way. Click comes from the lessons I have learned which is life can be unpredictable and hard but I’ve learned it’s about how you celebrate the moments that you do have and forge on even when you don’t know how.
It was truly a journey and a privilege to see Click and Sophie’s story come to life and I am deeply grateful. I hope Click does for others what it did for me which is provide the soothing healing balm that heals wounds and restores faith in love, life, and family.
